Ray and I both have new skis and bindings for this season, and we decided to give them a test on some mellow terrain in Kananaskis Country.
Last time we came to Gypsum Ridge, we tried to shortcut the trail originating at Peninsula Day Use area, but that ended up resulting in a ton of bushwhacking through steep, thick brush. This time, with the added advantage of a waxless base, we kicked and glided our way to the pass at GR290160. We realized that the trail continued up to a different ridge, perhaps to the quarry itself, so we turned around and bushwhacked back to where we knew there were some nice treed slopes to ski.
