Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner and some more films.

Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner

Gerlinde is the first woman to summit all 14 8000m peaks without supplemental oxygen. What I found more impressive, though, was that she climbed all of these peaks without any high altitude porters. In other words, above base camp (where the climbing starts), she carried all of her own gear. Oftentimes, porters will help to set up camps and fix lines, but on her expeditions, she did all of this work herself.

Her main topic was her summit of K2 in 2011. She's seemed very humble but determined, and the photos from this expedition were fantastic.

The Descent

I didn't realize this was actually a movie. I thought it was a PSA or something. Anyway, it was kind of silly.

K2: Siren of the Himalayas

A good historical film about K2 in general and an attempt that occurred in 2009. I like historical climbing films, so enjoyed this one a lot.
