Burstall Pass

We had a small Topmade excursion up to Burstall Pass, with a small side trip to get a glimpse of Leman Lake.

It was a really warm start at the Mud Lake parking lot. There wasn't too much damage apparent from the floods, although we saw at least two areas where water had brought rocks down to the trail.

Trying to take note of the crevasses on Robertson Glacier
There were quite a few groups on the trail, including a group of 3 on Snow Peak and a group of 2 who looked like they had camped at Leman Lake (about 5k beyond Burstall Pass on the Banff side).

We got to the pass in good time, had a leisurely lunch, then continued west to catch a glimpse of Leman Lake (and it was only a glimpse ... no photo) before turning around and heading back down.

Lunch, with Burstall slab in the background
I envied Karen's sandals by the end of the day, although the next time I'm in the area, there will hopefully be a couple metres of snow covering everything.
