Cirque Fore-peak

There's been a lot of snow recently, and while things are stabilizing, there is still some risk in many areas.

Aki and I were originally planning to do Storm Mountain, as we have not yet been to the summit, but Angie was doing a yoyo trip with her friend Evan, and we decided to join them due to the level of hazard in the alpine.

Signs of recent slab avalanches, probably a day or two old
The first part, bushwhacking through moderately dense forest, was slow and awkward. Once we got out of the trees, however, visibility was quite poor due to cloud cover and some falling snow.

Fighting the crust
Our first run was through a sheltered gully. The side of the gully facing north was quite nice, but the opposite side (facing south) was very crusty.

Our second run was across more exposed terrain, and due to the crust we had some faceplants.

I could have helped, but I took this photo instead
There's more snow in the forecast this week, and with it another spike in avalanche danger, so we'll probably be doing more glade skiing in the next little bit. Hopefully things will settle down and we'll be able to do some bigger objectives soon!

My GPS data was lost due to a bug with the app I use.
