Monrovia Falls

The second Team 5 hiking trip!

I originally advertised this as the first Team 5 hiking trip, but then was corrected when reminded of our hike to Icebox Canyon in Red Rocks:

Monrovia Canyon and Falls came up as a recommendation by Charlene, and we had a great turnout of 14 people.

The initial climb up from the lower parking lot
It was an overcast day, which made for cool temperatures and great light conditions for photos. The trail was busy with people, mostly locals I would guess, but the sound of running water made for a peaceful outing.

The rain has been welcome
The hike is quite short, but we made a very casual outing of it, stopping frequently to chat, take photos, and have snacks.

A wide clearing with overhead canopy
The falls themselves were flowing quite well, likely due to the generous amounts of precipitation that we've been receiving this winter.

There were a couple of side trails leading upward, one next to the falls and one a bit further downhill, but neither looked terribly appealing.

Monrovia Falls
We had a snack, played in the water, and then headed back down.

This was all of us!
It was nice to get out again, and I look forward to our next hike!
