An alternative route up one of the better effort / reward ratio hikes in the area.
My first time up Mount Baldy, I didn't know the area so was very conservative in terms of how much time I would spend dilly-dallying on the trail. This time, with a better understanding of what would be involved, I spent more time looking around and taking photos.

The trail up Register Ridge, named as such because it veers off immediately after the trail register, takes a more direct line than the Ski Hut trail. It was all business from this point on.

As usual, the summit of Mount Baldy was packed with people, so some of us decided to venture off to Baldy West, another summit less than a kilometre away. It was blissfully quiet.

There was a bit of excitement coming back down the Ski Hut trail, but everyone arrived at the parking lot safely. I plan to explore some of the other trails in the area, but I'm not sure if that will happen before what passes for ski season starts.
