Life in the Mountains

Winter is coming.

We do EEOR every year as it is one of my favourite hikes.

I've looked down into Paradise Valley on a number of occasions from Sentinel Pass, but never actually been in it.

We had a small Topmade excursion up to Burstall Pass, with a small side trip to get a glimpse of Leman Lake.

The weather had prevented us from attempting Mount Cory on two previous occasions, but we finally managed to both start and finish on this fine day.

We spent the weekend hiking in Waterton, taking advantage of the generosity of Ryan's parents.

The original plan was to attempt Mount Cory, but due to inclement weather we decided upon a slightly less exposed peak in Middle Sister.

We're starting to look at more interesting and diverse terrain, while still enjoying some of the luxuries available to us.

One of the most recognizable peaks along the Bow Valley, we decided to scramble the summit of Castle Mountain.

It's been a rough summer for getting out into the mountains near Canmore.
